The Smallpeice Trust is a charity that exists to encourage students to enter engineering courses in the UK. They offer 3 day residential courses at top universities in the UK for pupils in years 8-12 on a variety of engineering topics such as automotive engineering, naval architecture, cyber security, and many others. These courses give you a taster of university life as well as experience of real world problems and the people who try to fix them.They are well worth attending to widen your experience and look great on cvs. For further information, look at the web site or speak with Mrs Chambers who goes on one every year.

Year 8 Rocket Launch

Rocket science is modern business involving STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths). This month  year 8 took part in a team simulation to cost, produce and launch a water bottle rocket. Great fun was had by each rocket team following the instructions, budgeting, designing and building the rockets with varied success on the final launch. The highest height was 6.2m achieved by Rocket Ascent and the overall winner for team work, design, budgeting and launch were RKMS.

FS2 Red trip to Carrefour

This week, along with the other early years classes,  FS2 Red enjoyed a trip to Carrefour.
