The Smallpeice Trust is a charity that exists to encourage students to enter engineering courses in the UK. They offer 3 day residential courses at top universities in the UK for pupils in years 8-12 on a variety of engineering topics such as automotive engineering, naval architecture, cyber security, and many others. Year 8 Rocket Launch

Rocket science is modern business involving STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths). This month  year 8 took part in a team simulation to cost, produce and launch a water bottle rocket. Great fun was had by each rocket team following the instructions, budgeting, designing and building the rockets with varied success on the final launch. The highest height was 6.2m achieved by Rocket Ascent and the overall winner for team work, design, budgeting and launch were RKMS.
